RALEIGH – Having guided the team to consecutive appearances in the NCAA Championships during his first two seasons in Raleigh, NC State men's soccer head coach George Kiefer and his staff of Jeff Negalha, Kyle Nicholls, and Lucas Champenois have put together another very strong recruiting class. As of the most recent July rankings, the Wolfpack's 2019 recruiting class is ranked sixth nationally by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
NC State's 2019 recruiting class—which is still expected to grow in the coming weeks—includes signed commitments from the following players:
Kendall Edwards, D (Atlanta United – No. 40 in the 2019 Boys IMG Academy Top 150 rankings)
Tonny Temple, F (Philadelphia Union – No. 51)
Win Ellis, GK (Colorado Rapids – No. 116)
Sheldon China, F (NCFC Youth – No. 133)
David Merola, GK (NCFC Youth)
Transfers
George Asomani, M (Monroe College)
Jamie Smith, D (Limestone College)
TopDrawerSoccer analysis: "It's a small but strong class for the Wolfpack, which also announced the transfer of George Asomani the week of Signing Day. Four ranked players have helped boost them into the conversation for a top-10 recruiting class, as the impressive work continues for the staff at NC State."
