
NC State Set to Host Regional Site for 2020 ITA Kick-Off Weekend

TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 11 NC State women's tennis team is set to play host as a regional site for the 2020 ITA Kick-Off Weekend after finishing in the top 16 of the final rankings for the 2019 season. The event is set for January 25-26, 2020 and features the top 60 teams that opt to participate based on their final 2019 ranking.
The draft announcement marks the fourth consecutive season the Pack has competed in the event.
NC State, the No. 1 seed in its region, will welcome No. 24 Florida, No. 32 Oklahoma, and No. 40 Rice to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
Teams are guaranteed two matches, as the winners and losers of the first day of competition will play the following day. The winner of each regional will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Chicago, Illinois, at the XS Tennis Village on February 7-10, 2020.
NC State solidified the program's first trip to the championships in 2019 after defeating Mississippi State and host Florida at the kick-off weekend.
The Pack ended the season ranked No. 11 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Rankings, the program's highest finish. Posting a 24-7 (11-3) record, the team earned its fourth consecutive selection for the NCAA Championships, which registers as the longest streak in the history of the program.
