Franken and Shipp Named Honorable Mention All-American by GCAA

RALEIGH, NC – NC State men's golf team members Stephen Franken and Benjamin were both named Honorable Mention All-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Thursday.
Franken led the team with a stroke average of 70.74 per round which finished ranked as the fourth-lowest stroke average in program history.
Franken leaves NC State as one of the most decorated players in program history. The Raleigh native exits as the program's all-time leader in career stroke average, finishing with a career stroke average of 71.06. He occupies the second (junior year), fourth (senior year) and fifth (sophomore year) spots on the Pack's single-single stroke average in program history.
He is the first player in program history to lead NC State in stroke average for four consecutive seasons.
The 2018 ACC Player of the Year and three-time All-ACC honoree finishes with 22 top-10 finishes and 35 top-20 finishes in his NC State career.
Shipp's season stroke average of 71.06 is the sixth-best in program-history and his career stroke average of 71.66 ranks as the fourth-best in program history. Shipp still has one year left to compete at NC State.
The Duluth, Ga., native captured two tournament titles this season and finished with four top-five finishes and five top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments.
Shipp captured the Wolfpack Intercollegiate back in October and won the Puerto Rico Classic in February.
