Football Holding Donation Drive for Survivors of Interpersonal Abuse
5/7/2019 8:59:00 AM | Football
Members of the Wolfpack football squad will be collecting donations to help support survivors of interpersonal abuse on Friday, May 10, at the Wolfpack's baseball game vs. Clemson, which begins at 6:30 p.m. All items collected will go to the InterAct Family Safety and Empowerment Center in Raleigh.
The idea for the drive came from graduate defensive end James Smith-Williams, who was moved to action after a recent presentation to NC State's student-athletes by Brenda Tracy, a speaker, activist and abuse survivor.
"Brenda challenged every man in the room to step outside his comfort zone and to be a part of the solution to the problem of interpersonal violence," Smith-Williams said. "One way to be a part of that solution is to help survivors locally. I know that Wolfpack Nation will support us by embracing this great cause."
Items will be collected at all three gates into Doak Field at Dail Park by football student-athletes from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to donate the following items:
Bath towels
