
No. 10 NC State Splits Doubleheader on Senior Day

The Pack Fell to No. 13 Florida State, Defeated Winthrop
RALEIGH – The No. 10 NC State women's tennis team (21-4, 10-2) split its final home regular season doubleheader on Sunday in two tight matches. The Pack fell to No. 13 Florida State (17-5, 9-3) 4-3 in its Sunday opener, but bounced back with a gutsy win over Winthrop (12-7, 8-0), 4-3, thanks to a gritty performance by Amanda Rebol on court six to clinch the match in three sets.
The loss to the Seminoles is NC State's first loss since February.
No. 15 Anna Rogers went undefeated in singles on the day, picking up two ranked wins (No. 32 Carla Touly, No. 51 Lauren Proctor) to bring her total in the category to 16 on the season.
Bianca Moldovan also steadied the team on Sunday, going undefeated in singles play (2-0).
In addition to the doubleheader, the Wolfpack also had the chance to recognize and celebrate the members of its senior class (Bianca Moldovan, Amanda Rebol, Claudia Wiktorin) as they participated in their final regular season home match.

NC STATE 3, FLORIDA STATE 4
No. 9 Anna Rogers and Alana Smith captured their 10th ranked doubles win of the season with a 6-3 victory over Florida State's No. 46 Emmanuele Salas and Ana Oparenovic to open up doubles play. On court three, Liz Norman and Moldovan gave the Pack the 1-0 advantage heading into singles play with a 6-3 defeat of Petra Hule and Andrea Garcia. The duo trailed 4-3 but was able to rattle off three straight games to take the match.
NC State took just two of the six first sets. No. 15 Rogers tallied her 15th ranked singles win of her 2019 campaign, defeating No. 32 Touly in straight sets to square the match at 2-2. Moldovan would follow up Rogers' performance with a victory of her own, taking down Ariana Bahmanparast 6-3, 6-3, to tie Joelle Kissell's program record of 87 career singles wins.
With points left to be had on courts two and three, No. 112 Reami battled in three sets, but was ultimately defeated by Oparenovic.
The attention turned to No. 75 Smith and Salas on court two with the match on the line. The match went to a tiebreaker. Salas pulled out the win for Florida State with a 7-5, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (2) decision.
NC STATE 4, WINTHROP 3
NC State dropped the doubles point in the final match of the doubleheader. Reami and Wiktorin were the first to claim victory with a 6-4 win over Alisa Soloveva and Rafaela Santos. The Pack would drop its last two doubles matches. Norman and Moldovan trailed 3-0 and battled back to tie the match at 3 against Ellie Burns and Tayla Van Eck, but were unable to pull out the win on court three.
NC State took the first two points in singles as No. 112 Reami and No. 15 Rogers defeated Kauffman and No. 51 Proctor in straight sets.
Moldovan battled to a three-set victory over Van Eck, finishing strong in the third set to claim victory, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
With the match squared away 3-3, Rebol stood strong on court six, taking the final two sets to clinch the match for NC State.
