Bradbury Selected in First Round by Vikings

NC State has a first round pick in consecutive years for first time since 1979-80
RALEIGH, N.C. – For the second consecutive NFL Draft, the Wolfpack once again has a first round draft pick. Thursday night, center Garrett Bradbury was the 18th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, selected by the Minnesota Vikings.

He is the first offensive lineman from NC State since Jim Ritcher in 1980 to go in the first round. By going 18th overall, Bradbury is the highest drafted center in the NFL Draft since 2011 when Mike Pouncey went 15th overall.

"We felt this was a unique opportunity to get a very good player to come into our program," said Vikings GM Rick Spielman.

Paired with Bradley Chubb being selected fifth overall last season, NC State has now had a first round pick in consecutive drafts for the first time since 1979-80, and only the second time overall in school history.
