2019 NFL Draft to be held Thursday-Saturday
RALEIGH, N.C. – From playing in Carter-Finley one last time, to training full-time, to the NFL Combine, to NC State's Pro Day, to individual meetings with numerous NFL teams, the long wait of where they will start their NFL careers comes to an end for NC State's future #PackPros.
Â
The 2019 NFL Draft takes place this weekend from Nashville. Round 1 will be Thursday night, with Rounds 2-3 on Friday and Rounds 4-7 on Saturday.
Â
NC State set a new school record with seven draftees in last year's NFL Draft, and this year six were invited to the NFL Combine back in early March. The most players NC State has had drafted in two straight NFL Drafts was 10 between the seven last year and three in 2017.
Â
2018 Rimington Trophy winner Garrett Bradbury has garnered many headlines as one of the top interior linemen in this year's draft. The former starting center has been projected by numerous mock drafts as a first round selection, which would give NC State back-to-back first round draft picks for the first time since 1979 and 1980 and only the second time in school history overall.
Â
The next trio of Wolfpack players looking to be drafted are slated to be taken on the second day, which would be in Rounds 2-3. WR Kelvin Harmon put together back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at NC State, while LB Germaine Pratt led the Wolfpack in tackles.
Â
QB Ryan Finley will make it five former NC State QBs on NFL rosters after he gets drafted this weekend. He will join Philip Rivers, Russell Wilson, Mike Glennon and Jacoby Brissett in the NFL.
Â
Like Harmon, former WR Jakobi Meyers also left after his junior season and took part at the NFL Combine. Tyler Jones was the second member of the Pack's 2018 offensive line to be invited to the combine.
Â
In addition to those six that were invited to the NFL Combine, the Wolfpack has a few others that hope to hear their names called as well: defensive linemen Darian Roseboro and Eurndraus Bryant, offensive guard Terronne Prescod, receiver Stephen Louis, running back Reggie Gallaspy, Jr., and punter A.J. Cole III.
