TEMPE, Ariz. – The NC State men's tennis team was ranked a season-best No. 20 for the second week in a row in the latest release of the Oracle/ITA Division I rankings. It marks the fifth week in a row and the seventh time this season that the Wolfpack has been named one of the top 25 teams in the country.
NC State continued its record-setting 2019 season by advancing to the ACC Championship semifinals for the first time in program history as it defeated Miami in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament. The Pack is currently 18-10 on the year, marking the most wins in a single season since the 2016 dual match campaign during which it also won 18 matches.
The Pack finished regular-season conference play with an 8-4 clip, marking the most league wins in a single season in program history. NC State has taken down seven nationally-ranked opponents during the 2019 campaign and has spent 10 weeks of the season ranked in the top 30 of the national standings.
For the second week in a row, Alexis Galarneau checked in at No. 21 in the nation. The junior is 15-8 on the year in singles with all of his matches having been played on the top singles court for the Pack. Seven of his wins on the year have come against ranked opponents.
