Graduate guard concludes terrific second and final season at NC State with multiple honors

NEW YORK – Kiara Leslie of the 10th-ranked NC State women's basketball team (28-6) has earned Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention recognition for the 2018-19 season, the organization announced this week. Leslie is the first Wolfpack women's basketball player to earn this honor since Markeisha Gatling did so at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.

A graduate guard, Leslie had a terrific 2018-19 season en route to helping the Wolfpack to a 28-6 record, a second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, and the longest winning streak (21 games) and best start to a season (21-0) in NC State's program history. The Holly Springs, N.C., native led the team in scoring with 15.9 points per game while also averaging 7.2 rebounds per contest. Leslie scored 10+ points in a single game on 31 occasions, 20+ points in a single game nine times, and 30+ points in a single game twice. She also recorded 10 double-doubles during the course of the season. For her stellar season, Leslie was also named a WBCA All-American Regional Finalist, First Team All-ACC, and to the All-ACC Defensive Team.
