Nordberg Tabbed Louisville Slugger/NFCA Co-Player Of The Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Thanks to her eight home runs in the Wolfpack's six games last week, junior outfielder Brigette Nordberg was named Louisville Slugger/NFCA DI Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
She is the first player to earn a weekly honor from the NFCA since Abbie Sims on April 22, 2007, and the first to garner a weekly national honor since March 3, 2016, when Molly Hutchison was named USA Softball Collegiate National Player of the Week.
Nordberg batted .750 on the week with 12 hits, 13 runs and 19 runs batted in. She compiled a 2.323 slugging percentage and .826 on-base percentage with 37 total bases.
The Exton, Pa., native hit eight home runs in the team's six games between Feb. 25th and March 3rd. She hit three vs. Murray State on Feb. 25 and followed up with a pair of homers on Feb. 27 at Charlotte, becoming the first NC State player to hit five in a two-game stretch and second in program history to hit three in one game.
Nordberg additionally belted one against Charleston Southern on March 2 and two vs. Campbell on March 3 for her third multi-homer game of the week. She currently ranks second in the NCAA with 11 on the year and leads the nation in home runs per game (.65).
