Elissa Cunane Earns Fourth ACC Rookie of the Week Honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the fourth time this season, Elissa Cunane of the ninth-ranked NC State women's basketball team (25-4, 12-4 ACC) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Cunane averaged 14.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game during a week of very stiff competition. She scored 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds on Feb. 28 at third-ranked Louisville before scoring 11 points (2-of-5 shooting) and pulling down five rebounds in a win over 15th-ranked Miami. Cunane went 14-of-14 from the free-throw line during the week, hitting seven free throws in each game.

For the season, Cunane is averaging 13.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 129-of-228 (.566) from the field. Among active players on the roster, she is the most accurate free-throw shooter at a success rate of 118-of-157 (.752). With 379 points so far this season, her scoring total currently ranks seventh among all freshmen in program history. Her shooting percentage so far ranks as the third-best mark among all freshmen in program history.
