
Women’s Golf Earns Best Finish Of Season At Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – All five players in the NC State women's golf team's lineup this weekend posted a two-over par 74 or better on Sunday en route to the team's best tournament finish of the season. The Wolfpack shot a six-over 294 in the final round to place third out of 18 teams with a combined 866 (+2) for its best-ever showing at the prestigious tournament, as well as its lowest tournament score of 2018-19.
Co-host and 12th-ranked Wake Forest captured the team title with a 14-under 830, while UNC-Chapel Hill shot a two-over 862 to take second at the Champions Course at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, N.C. This weekend's field featured seven top 50 teams, and five of those ranked squads are in the ACC.
Four of the five players in the Wolfpack's lineup earned their best individual finishes of the season. Mim Sangkapong shot the low round on the squad on Sunday with an even-par 72 to finish T18th of 96 players for her fourth career top 20 placement.
India Clyburn was the top finisher for the tournament among the Wolfpack, as she shot a two-over 74 in round three to take T8th for her 11th career top 10 showing. It was additionally her 17th top 20 finish of her career.
Naomi Ko and Laura Kowohl also shot a 74 in the final round to share a tie for 12th individually. It marks Ko's ninth top 20 finish and Kowohl's eighth of their careers.
Lea Klimentova settled in a tie for 33rd after shooting a 74 to round out the team's top five, and Monika Hartl, who competed as an individual this weekend, finished T40th after shooting a 75 (+3) in the final round.
NC State will head back to Raleigh to prepare for the ACC Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., April 18-20.
