AARHUS, Denmark – Savannah Shaw represented the Wolfpack well at the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships as she finished as the top runner for the United States in the women's U20 race on Saturday morning.
The NC State freshman crossed the finish line in 53rd among some of the best distance runners in the world. She posted a mark of 23:29 in the race to lead the United States team.
The result wraps up an incredible few months of national and international competition for Shaw. She qualified for competition at the World Championships back in February by securing a top-six finish at the USATF Junior Cross Country Championships before going on to post the United States' best result at the World Cross Country Championships.
