RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 33 NC State men's tennis team will host another ranked matchup inside the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center as it welcomes No. 27 Penn to Raleigh on Monday, March 4. The match is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
MATCH INFO:

There will be free Chick-fil-A sandwiches available (while supplies last), and we will be giving away a "Go Pack" banner to fans who attend Monday's match. Fans will also have the chance to enter to win an NC State prize pack.
LAST TIME OUT:
NC State picked up a pair of home wins in last weekend's doubleheader to improve to 9-3 on the season. The Wolfpack defeated Virginia Tech 4-1 in its first ACC match of the season and went on to beat North Carolina Central 4-0.
The Pack dropped the doubles point against the Hokies but rebounded well in singles action as it took four unanswered wins to clinch the match. NC State then cruised past the Eagles in its second win of the outing to secure the doubleheader sweep.
PACK IN THE POLLS:
The Wolfpack is ranked No. 33 as the team in the Oracle/ITA Division I Team Rankings. NC State has been featured in every poll during this spring dual season since it first jumped into the rankings on Jan. 30.
Alexis Galarneau has maintained a spot in the top 50 of the singles rankings for the past two polls. He is currently No. 43 in the nation after a successful start to his 2019 campaign. The Wolfpack junior is 8-1 on the spring in singles action, including four wins over ranked opponents.
Galarneau and senior Michael Ogden are ranked in doubles, checking in at No. 60 nationally.
BARKAI'S STREAK:
Freshman Yannai Barkai has made an instant impact as a singles starter in the Wolfpack lineup. The Kiryat Ono, Israel native has posted six singles wins in a row, marking the longest winning streak for any player on the team this season.
MILESTONES APPROACHING:
The Pack has three players who are nearing 50 career singles wins. Senior Ivan Saveljic needs just one more victory in singles action to secure the 50th of his career, and Georgiy Malyshev (48) and Galarneau (47) follow closely behind.
The three would join Igor Saveljic as players on the current roster to reach at least 50 career wins in singles action, as Igor hit the milestone during the 2018 season.
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS:
Penn is ranked in a tie for 27th in the nation in the latest poll. The Quakers earned a program-best No. 23 ranking earlier this season and won the ECAC Championship earlier this month. The team currently owns a 10-2 record and will face Citadel on Monday morning before taking on the Wolfpack.
Penn has one ranked singles player as Kyle Mautner checks in at No. 54 in the nation. He has posted a 5-1 record in singles competition during dual matches, including one win over a ranked opponent.
Monday will mark just the fourth matchup between the teams and the first meeting between the Pack and the Quakers since 2007. NC State leads the overall series by a 2-1 score and has won each of the last two meetings between the programs.
UP NEXT:
The Pack will hit the road for a pair matches as it visits No. 32 Oklahoma State on Friday, March 8 and concludes non-conference action at third-ranked Texas on Sunday, March 10.
