The Pack stands in first place as it goes into the last seven women's events of the conference championships on Saturday. NC State has now won a total of eight events on the weekend, which ties for the most ACC titles for the Pack in a season since 1983 when the team won nine event titles.
"I'm really happy with our team's performance tonight," said head coach Braden Holloway. "Tonight, I feel like we caught fire and gained some momentum. It's an exciting meet. There are three teams at the top that are really making moves to try to win the team championship. We need to be on our A game tomorrow morning."
400 IM:
After coming into the ACC Championships with the top four seeds in the event, the Wolfpack women stayed true to form and dominated the 400-yard individual medley. The Pack posted the top four times in the prelims and went on to better those times in the A final to go 1-2-3-4 in the race.

Kate Moore led the way and won gold with a program record 4:05.24 in the final. NC State swept the podium with Makayla Sargent touching the wall second in 4:06.19 and Emma Muzzy following shortly behind for third in 4:06.89.
Julia Poole, who won ACC gold in the 200-yard individual medley on Thursday, took fourth place in 4:07.65 to round out the A final.
"That 400 IM group…holy cow," said Holloway. "They ignited the whole women's team and really got things rolling for us. Since I've been here at NC State, we haven't had a 1-2-3-4 for the women. They turned around and set people up for the rest of the night."
The 400-yard individual medley finals were packed with NC State swimmers as all nine athletes who swam in the prelims qualified to compete in the evening session. Jessica Horomanski (4:13.74) and Lindsay Morrow (4:15.97) raced in the B final, and Anna Jahns (4:14.06), Summer Finke (4:14.50) and Danika Huizinga (4:16.76) also put up points for the Wolfpack in the C final.
100 BREASTSTROKE:
Freshman Sophie Hansson continued to dominate the 100-yard breaststroke as she claimed the first individual ACC title of her career in the event. Hansson came out hot in her preliminary heat with a blistering 57.95 that sent her to the A final as the top seed. Her time in the prelims made her one of only 11 women in the history of the event to break 58 seconds and was the second-fastest time ever clocked by a freshman.
Hansson swam even faster in the A final to secure the first ACC individual title of her early Wolfpack career. She posted a 57.74 in the final, which ranks among the top 10 collegiate times in the history of the 100-yard breaststroke.
There's another ACC title for @packswimdive! This time it is @HanssonSophie in the 100 Breaststroke. She also set a new ACC record in the process!

Olivia Fisher and Anna Shumate tied in the B final with 1:01.07 marks.

"This isn't an accident," said head diving coach Yahya Radman. "The Pack hunts. It's something to win a title, and it's something else to defend it. I'm very proud of Hailey for earning us valuable points in her first platform meet ever. Madeline is simply amazing, and the depth of her drive and grit amazes me every day. We will keep chipping away, and tomorrow is a new day in a long road to reaching our goals."
Freshman Hailey Fisher also tallied points for the Pack with her in her 23rd-place finish in her first outing on the platform.
100 BACKSTROKE:
Elise Haan secured a gold medal in the 100-yard backstroke for the second season in a row to kick off her senior postseason. She touched the wall in 51.43 for the win to take back-to-back titles in the event and to give NC State its third straight win in the event.

Their 3:27.81 mark beat out the field by just over a second to secure the team's third relay win in as many nights of competition.
"We knew that last relay would be good and competitive," said Holloway. "We felt good about the four swimmers we put up. The way that we train, we're able to duplicate for ACCs very well, and they showed that and broke a school record to end the night."
100 BUTTERFLY:
Freshman Kylee Alons took fourth place in the 100-yard butterfly final, clocking a 51.79 to finish just off the podium. She earned a spot in the final after a program record-setting swim in the morning prelims, where she swam a 51.69 in the event to earn a spot at the top of NC State's all-time list. Her time in the prelims was almost a second better than her previous lifetime best.
Sirena Rowe also swam in the 100-yard butterfly C final, finishing with a time of 54.21.
200 FREESTYLE:
Tamila Holub represented the Wolfpack women in the only freestyle event of the day, clocking in at 1:48.18 in the evening session to score for the Wolfpack.
