MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – NC State diver Madeline Kline advanced to the USA Diving Winter Nationals platform semifinal on Thursday evening after competing in the quarterfinal Thursday afternoon.
The event brings nearly 150 of the nation's best divers. The Wolfpack has two entries in the event: Kline and James Brady. Brady is set to compete in the men's platform tomorrow afternoon starting at 1:30 p.m. ET.
"Today we had a successful day considering what our goal was when we got here," said head diving coach Yahya Radman. "Unfortunately, Madeline had a mild setback in the semifinals, which caused us to scratch her. However, she did a brand-new dive today, which was the goal for putting together a complete 10-meter list. Now our job is to continue to improve on those dives and prepare them for the postseason."
Kline placed 19th overall in the quarterfinal with a score of 181.70 before she competed in the semifinal.
