Wolfpack Impresses on First Day at 2019 Oracle/ITA National Fall Championships

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – The NC State women's tennis team delivered an impressive start at the 2019 Oracle/ITA National Fall Championships, recording four wins on the first day.
No. 84 Adriana Reami captured her fourth ranked singles win of the fall season, upsetting St. Mary's 68th-ranked Mariia Kozyreva 6-3, 6-1 on Wednesday. The win marked the senior's 89th win of her career, tying her with Amanda Rebol for the most singles wins in program history.
Teammate and eighth-ranked Anna Rogers also took care of business in the opening round of singles with a swift 6-1, 6-1 victory over Andrea Cerdan (Michigan).
No. 40 Alana Smith put up a fight over No. 2 Estela Perez-Somarriba (Miami), but fell in three sets.
In doubles, Rogers collected her first win of the weekend with Smith as the nation's top-ranked doubles duo advanced to the round of 16 thanks to a 6-2, 6-3 decision against Martina Kudelova and Natalia Boltinskaya (FAU).
Jaeda Daniel and Reami picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win over Andrea Cerdan and Alyvia Jones of Michigan to bring the Pack's early doubles record at the tournament to 2-0.
