NC State to Celebrate George Tarantini on November 23

RALEIGH – NC State Athletics will host a celebration of the late former men's soccer head coach George Tarantini on Saturday, Nov. 23 inside Reynolds Coliseum. The event is free to the public (RSVP required) and will begin at 3:30 pm.

4:15 pm – Welcoming remarks
4:25 pm – Brief program featuring multiple speakers from George's life
5:15 pm – Closing remarks
Tarantini retired in November of 2010 as the winningest soccer coach in school history. He earned ACC Coach of the Year honors in 1992 and 1994 and was the NCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 1994. He directed the Wolfpack to nine NCAA Tournament appearances, including one postseason run in 1990 that featured the program's first ACC championship and an appearance in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament before falling to eventual national champion UCLA on penalty kicks.
