#7 Rifle Records Program-Best Ranking

RALEIGH - Fresh off a top-10 victory on Nov. 9, the 3-1 NC State rifle team has moved into the top 10, checking in at seventh in this week's Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) rankings. The ranking is the highest the team has ever been in the CRCA poll and marks NC State's first appearance in the top 10 since Oct. 15, 2018 when the Wolfpack was ranked eighth in the country.

The Wolfpack defeated the No. 13 Memphis Tigers in Memphis, Tenn. on Saturday, firing the second-best score in program history in a 4675-4646 victory. NC State was led by sophomore Emily Fisher, who took the top spots in the aggregate scores and air rifle. Fisher recorded a 1,172 aggregate and a 593 in air rifle.
Thirteen career-highs across the team helped boost the Wolfpack's place in the rankings. In the individual aggregate finishes, sophomore Emily Fisher took first place, freshman Aliya Butt finished in third place and freshman Makenzie Sheffield claimed fourth place. Butt shot career-highs in both smallbore and air rifle, competing in aggregate competition for the first time in her college career.
The Wolfpack will look to continue its strong performances as it takes on No. 5 Akron and No. 2 West Virginia in Morgantown, W.V. Nov. 16-17.
