Wolfpack Cruises Past Trojans in Preseason Exhibition, 113-73

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men's basketball team jumped out to an early 18-2 lead and never looked back as the Wolfpack led from start to finish in its 113-73 victory over Mount Olive Sunday afternoon at PNC Arena.
Five NC State players scored in double figures in the Pack's lone exhibition game.
Senior guard Markell Johnson led the way with 26 points and nine assists. C.J. Bryce notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Devon Daniels posted 20 points of his own. In their Wolfpack debuts, Pat Andree and Manny Bates also scored in double figures with 17 points and 10 points, respectively.
NC State snagged 15 steals as a team on its way to scoring 37 points off of 24 Trojan turnovers.
The Pack scored 13 unanswered points to start the contest and held Mount Olive without a basket for the first three minutes of the game. NC State made nine of its first 11 attempts from the floor as it built up a 34-point halftime lead. The Trojans never got closer than 27 points for the remainder of the game as the Wolfpack closed out the exhibition win.
NC State's 2019-20 campaign will officially begin on Tuesday, Nov. 5 as the Wolfpack hosts Georgia Tech in its regular season opener. The game is set to tip off at 8:30 p.m. inside PNC Arena and will be broadcast live on the ACC Network.
