NC State seeks longest winning streak in program history

RALEIGH – Currently off to the best unbeaten start to a season in the 45-year history of the program, the eighth-ranked NC State women's basketball team (15-0, 2-0 ACC) continues Atlantic Coast Conference play at home Thursday evening against Pittsburgh. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm from Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum with live streaming coverage provided by ACC Network Extra/WatchESPN.

COMING FULL CIRCLE
NC State assistant coach Erin Batth was on the Clemson team that ended NC State's 14-0 start to a season on Jan. 13, 2000. Nineteen years later, she was coaching on the sideline as the Wolfpack set a new program mark with a 15-0 start by winning at Boston College on Jan. 6, 2019.

OFFENSIVE EFFICIENCY
Despite taking 3.1 fewer shots than its opponents per game (60.2 vs. 63.3), the Wolfpack is making 7.3 more per contest (28.4 vs. 21.1).

Kiara Leslie's 31-point performance in the win at Boston College featured 13-15 shooting from the field, ranking as the third most accurate single-game shooting performance in program history. She is the first Wolfpack player to score 30+ points in a game since 2017-18 senior Chelsea Nelson scored 31 in a Feb. 22, 2018 win at Pittsburgh.

In the January 8 Bracketology post, NC State is a projected NCAA Tournament second seed and would be hosting Mercer/Southern and potentially South Carolina/UCLA in Raleigh.

RECORD SINCE THE RENOVATION
Since the Wolfpack's 2016-17 return to Reynolds Coliseum following the completion of the $35 million renovation, the team is 40-4 on its home court.

SECOND LONGEST STREAK IN THE NATION
Aislinn Konig has hit at least one three-pointer in 48 consecutive games dating back to Nov. 15, 2017. She hit 91 last season, setting a new program single-season record. The previous mark of 90 was held by Jennifer Howard since the 1995-96 season.

Konig's streak of 48 consecutive games with a three-pointer is behind only Presley Hudson of Central Michigan (52).
