NC State also ranked in the Tennis Channel/USTA College Top 25
RALEIGH, N.C.– After a 3-1 start to the 2019 season and Sunday's win over a top-12 opponent, the NC State men's tennis team has been tabbed 25th nationally in the latest release of the Oracle/ITA Division I Men's Rankings.
The ranking marks the first time that the Wolfpack has been featured in the national poll this season.
NC State has posted three wins through two weekends of action, most recently upsetting No. 12 Georgia in the consolation round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The 4-3 victory over the Bulldogs marked just the second time in eight meetings between the two programs that the Wolfpack has come away with the win, and it was the program's highest-ranked win since upsetting seventh-ranked Wake Forest in March 2016.
The Wolfpack also owns a pair of season-opening wins over Northwestern and Campbell, with the team's lone loss coming at the hands of No. 24 Michigan.
NC State is also featured in the Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25, which was also released Wednesday. The team checks in at No. 24 in that poll.
The Pack returns to action at home on Feb. 2 for a doubleheader at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. NC State will face North Florida at 11 a.m. and Winthrop at 5 p.m.
