Women's Golf To Open Season At Cougar Classic

RALEIGH – The NC State women's golf team is set to open its season Sunday when it competes at the Cougar Classic, hosted by College of Charleston in Hanahan, S.C.
This will be the 15th time the Wolfpack has competed in the prestigious tournament, and is one of 18 teams in the field. The Cougar Classic consistently draws in some of the best talent in the NCAA, as eight teams are ranked or receiving votes for the top 25 of the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) preseason poll.
Tournament Information
Course – Yeaman's Hall Club
Par – 72
Yards – 6,261
Format – 54 holes (18 holes Sunday, Monday and Tuesday)
Tee Times – NC State will tee off hole 10 between 9:27 and 10:03 a.m. Sunday and off hole one between 9:42 and 10:18 a.m. Monday, and will be paired with Furman and Vanderbilt. Tuesday will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

2017 Season Recap
NC State advanced to postseason play for the 16th time in 17 seasons. The team earned a spot at the NCAA San Francisco Regional, where Laura Kowohl was on the cusp of qualifying as an individual for the NCAA Championships. She finished in a tie for eighth to force a playoff, and recorded the second-lowest score in program history in postseason play (213, -3).
The team earned nine top-10 finishes throughout the season, including a win at the Ocean Course Invitational.
