Machado Earns National Player of the Week Award

Junior midfielder collects second award in as many days

RALEIGH – Gabriel Machado of the fourth-ranked NC State men's soccer team (4-0-0) has been named the TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week for August 27 – September 2, the publication announced Tuesday.
Machado helped lead the Wolfpack to two wins during this span, scoring the match-winning goals in 2-0 victories at No. 2 Akron and versus Presbyterian. He was also named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week for these achievements on Sept. 3.
At 4-0-0, the Wolfpack is off to its best start since the 2012 season. NC State opens Atlantic Coast Conference play on Friday evening at No. 1 Wake Forest.
