Wolfpack Picks up 37-20 Road Win at Marshall

Huntington, W.Va. – NC State jumped out to a 23-7 lead at the half, and a third quarter interception return sealed the game, as the Wolfpack (3-0) came away with a 37-20 road win at Marshall.
QB Ryan Finley completed 23-of-40 passes for 377 yards and a score, while RB Reggie Gallaspy, Jr. scored a pair of one-yard TD rushes. On defense, Jarius Morehead recorded the Pack's first INT of the season, and returned it 57 yards for the game's final score.
NC State jumped out to a 10-0 lead. Freshman PK Christopher Dunn hit a 30-yard field goal in the first quarter, his first of three in the first half, and Gallaspy scored from a yard out on the first play of the second quarter.
Just 51 seconds later, Marshall got on the scoreboard with an 82-yard TD pass to cut the lead to 10-7.
NC State closed the first half with 13 unanswered points to take a 23-7 lead into the break. Dunn scored from 32 and 26 yards out, and sandwiched in between was Gallaspy's second one-yard score of the first half.
Marshall cut the lead to 23-17 in the third quarter, with a 32-yard field goal and then a 22-yard fumble return for a TD just nine seconds apart.
NC State responded with a 30-yard Emeka Emezie TD catch on the next drive.
After another Marshall field goal, Morehead sealed the win with his INT return at the end of the third quarter.

Holding a 3-0 lead, NC State scored the game's first touchdown on the first play of the second quarter. On third-and-goal, RB Reggie Gallaspy Jr. scored on a 1-yard TD to cap an 8 play, 8- yard drive. On the drive, QB Ryan Finley was 3-of-3 for 66 yards, including a 46-yard completion to Kelvin Harmon.
WOLFPACK SPOTLIGHT DRIVE – 2nd half
6 plays, 75 yards in 1:47 – Ryan Finley to Emeka Emezie 30-yd TD pass
After Marshall scored the first 10 points of the second half to cut the Pack's lead to 23-17, NC State took the ensuing drive 75 yards in just six plays to increase the lead to 30-17 with a Ryan Finley to Emeka Emezie 30-yard TD pass.

• Jarius Morehead's 57-yard INT return for a TD in the third quarter was the Pack's first INT of the season.
• QB Ryan Finley threw for the second-most yards in his career with 377. Over the first three games of the season, Finley has 1,056 passing yards. Only Philip Rivers (1,068 in 2003 and 1,069 in 2000) has thrown for more in the first three games of the season.
• Finley also becomes only the third ACC QB since 2000 to start a season with three straight games of 300-plus passing yards.
• RB Reggie Gallaspy, Jr., had two rushing scores, scoring a rushing TD in all three games this season. This marks the first time in his career he has scored in three straight games.
