RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State Athletics is deeply saddened to announce the passing of longtime Senior Associate Athletic Director and Chief Financial Officer Diane Moose. A 21-year employee of NC State, the last 18 years with Athletics, Moose passed away Tuesday morning surrounded by family.
Â
"Diane loved her Wolfpack more than I can express," said Director of Athletics Debbie Yow. "She was always there to help us figure out how to make our modest budget work, as we pursued excellence for the Pack. More than that, she was the kind of person who made you feel better after visiting with her and her sense of humor was contagious. To say she will be missed can barely scratch the surface of the void in our lives without her."
An employee of NC State Athletics since April of 2000, Moose served on the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Committee, Liaison to the Wolfpack Club Finance Committee and as a member of the Athletic Department Senior Staff, Budget Committee and Cabinet.
Prior to joining NC State Athletics, she spent three years as the Assistant Budget Director for the University with responsibilities that included budget management, capital spending, legislative requests and reporting to various campus constituencies. Moose spent 15 years in private industry working for Occidental Life Insurance and PennCorp, Inc. as Assistant Vice President responsible for Accounts Payable, Budget Management and Cost Allocation.
She was a proud graduate of NC State University with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting. A life-long resident of eastern North Carolina, Moose had resided in the Raleigh area since 1979. Diane is survived by husband Tim, daughters Britt, Jordan and CJ, and grandsons Alex and Connor.
Moose was 57.
