Evans, Kuchmaner Named to Wolfpack-Camels Invitational All-Tournament Team

Evans led the Wolfpack in kills and Kuchmaner led the defensive effort
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State volleyball's Melissa Evans and Makenzie Kuchmaner have been named to the Wolfpack – Camels Invitational All-Tournament Team following three strong performances over the weekend.
Evans led NC State's offensive attack to collect her second all-tournament team mention of the season, while Kuchmaner secures her first career honor thanks to a stellar defensive effort.
The Wolfpack compiled a 2-1 mark in the event with 3-0 wins against Wright State and Campbell and a five-set loss to Utah Valley.
Evans recorded 48 kills on the weekend, averaging 4.36 kills per set. The Lone Tree, Colo., native led NC State in kills against Wright State and Campbell. She tallied 18 kills in Friday's 3-0 triumph against the Raiders, which are the most kills in a three-set match by any ACC player this season. Her .571 attacking percentage in the contest was a career best.
The sophomore opposite hitter notched 18 kills against Utah Valley and also charted 12 digs to record her third career double-double. Against the Camels yesterday, Evans put down 12 kills to lead the Pack and also logged seven digs.
Kuchmaner headlined the Wolfpack's defense over the weekend, recording an average of 5.55 digs per set. She tallied 19 digs against Wright State and 22 against the Wolverines in the second match on Friday.
Yesterday against Campbell, the Waxhaw, N.C., native notched 20 digs, which is the third-highest total by any ACC player in a three-set match this season. Kuchmaner also served 13 consecutive rallies during NC State's 12-0 run against Wright State on Friday.
For the weekend, she collected 61 digs, 16 assists and four service aces.
NC State returns to action this weekend when the squad travels to Atlanta, Ga., for the ACC-SEC Challenge. The Wolfpack will take on Arkansas at 4 p.m. Friday and Georgia at 1 p.m. Saturday.
