RALEIGH – NC State men's soccer associate head coach Jeff Negalha was recently recognized by College Soccer News as one of the top assistant coaches in the NCAA following the conclusion of the 2017 season.
During the 2017 season, Negalha assisted head coach George Kiefer in leading the Wolfpack to an 8-6-4 record, two victories over top-five opponents, and the program's first appearance in the NCAA Championship since 2009.
From College Soccer News:
"Negalha's resume includes very successful stops at South Florida, Boston College, and North Carolina before joining the staff at NC State as the associate head coach under head coach George Kiefer last year. The Wolfpack returned to the NCAA Tournament last year for the first time since the 2009 season. Negalha's experience and his eye for talent are outstanding qualities."
Negalha has played a large role in NC State's last two strong recruiting classes. The 2018 group was ranked 13th in the nation by TopDrawerSoccer and the 2017 class was ranked ninth.
The Wolfpack will conclude the exhibition portion of its season on Saturday, August 18 when the team visits Duke. Kickoff between the Wolfpack and Blue Devils is scheduled for 7 pm from Durham. NC State will officially open the 2019 season at home against USC Upstate on Friday, Aug. 24.
