King Named To MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Tziarra King of the NC State women's soccer team has been named to the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, as announced by the organization this week. She is one of 45 women that are included on the watch list after an impressive sophomore campaign last season.
The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year.
King ranked fourth in goals (17) and fifth in points (40) in the NCAA, and second among the ACC in both categories in 2017. She garnered First Team All-ACC and United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team honors thanks to her stellar play on the field. She additionally finished 26th on Top Drawer Soccer's Top 100 national player rankings and was named to its Best XI Third Team.
The Sicklerville, N.J., native recently was named to the 2018 Preseason All-ACC Women's Soccer Team, which is an 11-member team voted on by the league's head coaches.
The MAC Hermann Trophy Watch Lists are compiled by members of the United Soccer Coaches Men's and Women's NCAA Division I All-America Committees. Fifteen semifinalists will be named for both the men's and women's MAC Hermann Trophy near the end of the college season based on voting by NCAA Division I coaches and from those candidates, three finalists will ultimately be placed on the ballot for the coveted award.
This year's winners will be announced Jan. 4, 2019, at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
