Nine Gymnasts Named WGCA Scholastic All-Americans

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Nine gymnasts were named Scholastic All-Americans by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Monday. The success in the classroom this season was accompanied by the Wolfpack's first EAGL Championship since 2013 and the program's highest NCAA Regional Championship score in its history in the first year under head coach Kim Landrus.
Of the nine student-athletes awarded this honor, six will be returning, including: Caitlyn Fillard, Drew Grantham, Hailey Mesmer, Lauren Kent, Maggie Tamburro, and Melissa Brooker. Competing as seniors this year, Chelsea Knight, Mackenzie Itcush, and Nicole Wild were also named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans.
Six of the nine student-athletes earned Scholastic All-American status for the second year in a row: Caitlyn Fillard, Hailey Mesmer, Mackenzie Itcush, Maggie Tamburro, Melissa Brooker, and Nicole Wild.

In order to be named a Scholastic All-American, student-athletes must hold a 3.5 GPA or better.Â
