Pratt Named to Butkus Award Watch List

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State linebacker Germaine Pratt has been named to the 2018 Butkus Award Watch List, an award that honors the nation's best linebacker.

Last year, Pratt was the fourth-leading tackler on the Wolfpack (69) even though he did not start a game. He became the first Wolfpack defender to score a pair of touchdowns in a season since David Amerson in 2011, as he returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown in the win over Louisville to seal that Wolfpack victory and also recovered a blocked punt for a score at Notre Dame.

The watch list contains 51 linebackers, mirroring the legendary "51" pro jersey associated with the Award's namesake Dick Butkus, who was recognized by NFL Films as the best defensive player in football history.

Semi-finalists will be named October 29, finalists November 19, and winners will be notified on or before December 4.
