Women's Tennis Florida Bound For 2019 ITA Kick-Off Weekend

2019 ITA Kick-Off Weekend Draft Board
TEMPE, Ariz.—The No. 34 NC State women's tennis team will travel to Gainesville, Florida, to take part in the 2019 ITA Kick-Off Weekend as selected by coaches in Thursday's draft.
The event, set for Jan. 25-29, 2019, features the top 60 teams based on their rank in the final ITA/Oracle team poll.

The Wolfpack had the seventeenth pick in the draft and was selected as the No. 3 seed in the Gainesville, Florida., host site. In the first round, NC State will take on second-seeded and No. 29 Mississippi State. The region also includes hosts No. 11 Florida and No. 72 UC Santa-Barbara, who will take the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds, respectively.
NC State's match with Mississippi State will the first in history between the two teams.
Teams are guaranteed two matches, as the winners and losers of the first day of competition will play the following day.
The winner of each regional will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Seattle, scheduled for Feb. 8-11, 2019.
This will mark the third-straight year the Wolfpack has participated in the event. In 2018, NC State traveled to Lexington, Kentucky where it took on UCLA and Kentucky.
The Wolfpack ended the season ranked No. 34 in the Oracle/ITA team rankings released on May 23. Posting a 17-15 (7-7 ACC) record, NC State earned selection to the NCAA Championship for the third-straight year in 2018. The Wolfpack has now earned two of its four best season-ending rankings in program history in the last three years.
