
Patrick-Swift Receives NFCA Regional Coaching Award

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – NC State head softball coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift and her staff at Saint Francis were named Coaching Staff of the Year for the Great Lakes Region this week by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
Patrick-Swift and her staff were one of 11 teams to receive the honor, and are eligible for the NFCA's Division I National Coaching Staff of the Year award, which will be announced June 27.
This is the third honor she has received as a head coach, as she was named ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Association) Coach of the Year and led the NEC (Northeastern Conference) Coaching Staff of the Year in 2017.
Saint Francis finished the 2018 season with a 39-19 record, including a perfect 16-0 record in conference play for the second straight season. The Red Flash repeated as NEC regular season and tournament champions, earning an automatic NCAA Tournament bid for the second consecutive year.
Under her tutelage Patrick-Swift saw seven All-NEC selections, including Player and Pitcher of the Year honors.
Her squad led all NCAA Division I program with 83 home runs entering the NCAA Tournament and finished second overall, breaking conference and program records in the category. It marked the third straight season that the Red Flash finished among the top-10 Division I programs in home runs, while the team led the NCAA with nine grand slams in 2018.
