Softball Falls To Florida State 3-0 In Season Finale

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team's 2018 season came to a close on Sunday afternoon at Dail Stadium with a 3-0 loss to No. 11/9 Florida State.
The Wolfpack finishes the year with a 23-31 (5-18 ACC) record while the Seminoles improve to 44-10 (21-3 ACC) on their season.
How It Happened
-After two scoreless innings, Florida State took a one-run lead with a solo shot to right center.
-Macauley Prickett tallied the Pack's lone hit of the game in the third inning, a single to center field.
-The Seminoles extended their lead to two in the fourth with another solo homer to center field.
-NC State had a runner in scoring position in the bottom frame after Cheyenne Balzer drew a one-out walk and Jade Caraway drew a two-out walk, but a swinging strikeout retired the side.
-FSU tacked on another run in the fifth. The leadoff batter was walked, and after a stolen base and popped up bunt moved the runner to third a wild pitch brought her across home plate.
