NC State Baseball Selected to Host NCAA Regional

Wolfpack to host for the second time in the last three years

INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time in the last three years, NC State baseball has been named one of 16 host sites for an NCAA Regional at Doak Field at Dail Park. The Wolfpack is the 16th overall seed in the championship field and top seed in the regional.

NC State will open play against fourth-seed Army on Friday evening at 7 p.m. Auburn is the two seed in the regional and will face Northeastern in the first game of the regional on Friday at 2 p.m.

All of the games in the Raleigh Regional will air live on ESPN3.

Friday's game will be the first meeting between NC State and Army. The Wolfpack and the Auburn have met twice, and the series is tied at one apiece. NCSU has won all four meetings against Northeastern.

The Wolfpack is hosting for the sixth time in program history and each has come under the leadership of current head coach Elliott Avent. The Pack also hosted in 2003, 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2016. NCSU advanced to the super regional in each of the first four years hosting.

NC State will be making its 30thpostseason appearance and fourth consecutive. The Wolfpack has earned an NCAA bid in 14 of the last 16 seasons and eight of the last nine.
