Wiktorin & Rogers Earn Selection to NCAA Doubles Championships

RALEIGH— Junior Claudia Wiktorin and sophomore Anna Rogers of the No. 38 NC State women's tennis team have been selected for the 2018 NCAA Women's Tennis Doubles Championships, as announced by the organization Wednesday. The berth represents the second year in a row and the fourth time overall a Wolfpack doubles pair has earned a trip to the championships.
Rogers selection sees her becomes the first player in program history to be a two-time participant at the NCAA Doubles Championship.
Wiktorin and Rogers received an at-large bid and will compete against 32 other doubles teams for the doubles championship title. The tournament is set to run May 24-28 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston Salem, North Carolina, following the team tournament which runs from May 17-22.
The pair have had a strong season as they currently have an overall record of 26-11, are 15-7 in the dual season playing at the No. 1 position, 5-4 in the ACC and hold seven wins over nationally-ranked opponents. They currently sit at No. 26 in the Oracle/ITA doubles rankings.
The news follows Tuesday's announcement by the NCAA where the team learned they will face No. 26 Baylor in the first round of the regional competition in Los Angeles on May 11 at 1 p.m. (ET). The match will mark the third time the teams have played each other.
