Three From Swimming & Diving Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team

RALEIGH— Anton Ipsen, Andreas Vazaios and Hannah Moore of the NC State swimming and diving team have been named to the 2018 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District At-Large Teams, as announced by the organization.
A total of ten men and ten women were chosen from  District Three, which includes North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.Â
Ipsen carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in Industrial Engineering, is a four-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree and a three-time CSCAA Scholar-Athlete All-American. Additionally, he was honored for his excellence in the pool and classroom this year by being named ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
In the pool, Ipsen played a significant role in the Wolfpack's success this season. At the NCAA Championships he earned All-America honors in three events as he won the 1,650 freestyle, finished third in the 500 freestyle and 11th in the 400 IM.
He was an ACC Champion in the 1,650 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 400 IM and 800 freestyle relay.
Ipsen is the current school record holder in the 500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 1,650 freestyle and 400 individual medley.
Vazaois, a Psychology major with a 3.93 GPA, was named to the All-ACC Academic Team along with earning the ACC Men's Swimmer of the Year award. He was a 2017 CSCAA Scholar All-American.
Garnering All-America honors in four events, Vazaios was the NCAA Champion in the 200 butterfly and part of the Pack's NCAA Champion 800 freestyle relay team along with finishing third in the 100 backstroke and eighth in the 200 medley relay.
He was an ACC Champion in the 800 freestyle relay, 400 medley relay and 200 IM while finishing second in the 200 butterfly and third in the 200 freestyle.
Vazaios is the program record holder in the 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 200 IM and the 800 freestyle relay.
Moore, a Nutrition Science major with a 4.0 GPA, is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree and garnered All-America honors in three events; the 1,650 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 400 IM. She was the ACC Champion in the 1,650 freestyle and earned All-ACC honors in the 500 freestyle and 400 IM.
Moore holds NC State records in the 500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 1,650 freestyle, 400 IM and 800 freestyle relay.
