Manny Perez Joins U-20 USMNT on Trip to Honduras

CHICAGO – Rising sophomore Manny Perez of the NC State men's soccer team has earned another call up to the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team, the United States Soccer Federation announced recently. The 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year has been selected alongside 19 other players by U-20 head coach and former Wolfpack star Tab Ramos to take part in a 12-day training camp that will start in Florida and end in Honduras.
While in Honduras, Perez and the U-20s will play the Honduras National Team on May 17 and 19 in San Pedro Sula.
Perez is becoming a regular with U.S. Soccer, as he joined the U-20s on a trip to Spain in March, participated in the inaugural United States Men's Soccer Youth National Team Summit Camp in Florida in January, and also spent time with the organization at a camp in October 2017.

Chosen for the inaugural U.S. Soccer Youth National Team Summit Camp in January 2018 … Ranked as the No. 2 freshman in the nation on the Top Drawer Soccer Freshman Top 100 List at the end of the 2017 season … United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Second Team … Top Drawer Soccer Freshman Best XI First Team … ACC Freshman of the Year … All-ACC Second Team … ACC All-Freshman Team … NCAA Player of the Week and Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week on Sept. 12/13 … Led the Wolfpack in goals scored (5), match-winning goals (3), and points (14) during his freshman (2017) season … Finished second on the team in assists (4) … Scored three goals in the first three matches of his career, two of which were match winners (Florida Atlantic and No. 3/5 Clemson) … Scored two goals, including the match winner, during NC State's 3-2 win at No. 5/9 Louisville on Oct. 21 … Achieved all of this despite missing three matches in October due to a call up to the U.S. Youth National Team.
