#38 Women’s Tennis Overcomes #26 Wake Forest, NC Central

RALEIGH – The #38 NC State women's tennis team returned to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in thrilling fashion as it outlasted #26 Wake Forest 4-3 then blitzed NC Central 7-0 Friday night.

The win moves the Wolfpack to 14-11 overall and 6-5 in ACC play.

#26 Wake Forest
Bianca Moldovan & Tayla Stenta earned a dominant 6-0 win at the No. 3 position over Courtney Meredith and Alexis Franco while #27 Anna Rogers & Claudia Wiktorin defeated #34 Chandler Carter and Emma Davis 5-7 at No. 1 to clinch the doubles point for the Pack.

Tayla Stenta overcame Courtney Meredith 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1 at No. 6, Claudia WIktorin battled back to defeat Anna Ulyashenko 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 at No. 5 and Taylor Bridges clinched the match for NC State at No. 3, outlasting Chandler Carter 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.

NC Central
The Wolfpack made quick work of the Eagles as it took the doubles point thanks to #27 Rogers & Wiktorin defeating Jamie Rogers & Polina Sakharova 6-1 at No. 1 and Stenta and Moldovan earning a 6-0 win over Emily Pena and Lauren Mullis 6-0.

The Pack swept its singles matches with Moldovan defeating Sofia 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4, Bridges beating Sakharova 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and Stenta overcoming Lauren Mullis 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6. Amanda Rebol defeated Emily Pena 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4, #118 Reami beat Maru Berghaus 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 and #118 Rogers closed the night out with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jamie Rogers.
