TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – In the first of its two ACC matches in the state of Florida, the #46 NC State women's tennis team earned an impressive 4-3 win over #22 Florida State Friday at the Speicher Tennis Center.
The win moved the Pack to 9-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play while the Seminoles moved to 9-5 and 2-3 in the ACC.
From the Coach
"Really proud of our overall team effort and for us to pull out result on the road in a tough place to play," said head coach Simon Earnshaw. "We've had a couple of very close matches with Florida State the past two years and i think this shows that if you keep playing hard eventually one will go your way. I wouldn't say that we played brilliantly but our continuity no matter what the situation at least until we achieved the team history was excellent and exactly where it needed to be for the most part. I'd hate to single out a player but I thought our lone senior, Tayla showed tremendous leadership today right when we need it most, saving a match point in doubles with a winner and then beating a player that was previously undefeated this spring, which was huge in the context of the match. We will take a lot of heart from this win, everyone played a part in the outcome and there's a lot to be positive about moving forward starting with Miami up next. Go Pack!"
Doubles
The Pack took the doubles point as Adriana Reami & Amanda Rebol defeated #53 Petra Hule & Andrea Garcia 6-4 at No. 2 while Tayla Stenta & Bianca Moldovan overcame Nandini Das & Gabriela Castaneda 7-6 (7-4).

Adriana Reami showed grit and perseverance at the No. 2 position, outlasting Petra Hule 6-4, 7-6 (11-9).
Taylor Bridges and Tayla Stenta picked up wins at the No. 5 & No. 6 positions; Bridges defeated Ariana Rahmanparast 6-4, 6-3 while Stenta overcame Andrea Garcia 6-4, 6-1.
