Women's Swimming & Diving Set For NCAA Championships

RALEIGH—The NC State women's swimming and diving team will travel to Columbus, Ohio, for the 2018 NCAA Championships which will run Wednesday through Saturday inside the McCorkle Aquatic Pavillion. The Ohio State University and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission will serve as co-hosts.Â
Schedule of Events:
There will be a finals session Wednesday, followed by prelims and finals sessions during the following three days. Prelims each day will begin at 10 a.m. while finals will start at 6 p.m.

Elise Haan – 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke
Tamila Holub – 1650 freestyle
Jessica Horomanski – 400 IM
Anna Jahns – 1650 freestyle

Last Time Out:
The Wolfpack finished third at the ACC Championships and earned a total of 12 podium finishes throughout the meet including four firsts, four seconds and four thirds along with setting two program records. The championship took place inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center from Feb. 14-17.
Pack in the Polls:
In the latest CSCAA poll, NC State landed at No. 11, which was second in the ACC to only No. 7 Virginia. Â
2016 NCAA Championship Recap:
The Wolfpack earned a seventh place finish at the 2017 NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, marking its highest finish in program history. After four days of competition, the team tallied 194 points, collected 25 All-America honors, broke five school records and two conference records.
The ladies of Stanford won the meet with 526.5 points, California finished as runner-up with 366 points and Texas A&M took third place with 292.5 points.
Scouting the Competition:
In the most recent CSCAA poll, NC State was ranked as the 11th team in the nation while Stanford, California and Texas A&M will enter as the top three seeds. Several other ACC schools were ranked with Louisville at No. 14, UNC-CH at No. 18, Notre Dame at No. 19 and Duke tied for No. 25.
Race Notes:
— Nine Wolfpack women will compete in individual events, three will attend as relay qualifiers and one as an alternate
—Heading into the Championship, the Wolfpack has nine swims seeded in the top-16, three of which fall into the top-8 of competition.Â
— NC State is particularly strong in the distance events; it has three swimmers entered in the 1650 freestyle including third-seeded Hannah Moore and Tamila Holub, who is also seeded inside the top-16. The Pack also has four entries in the 500 freestyle, highlighted by Hannah Moore who is seeded inside the top-16
—NC State also has four swimmers entered in the 400 IM, led by Hannah Moore who is seeded inside the top-16
—Elise Haan earned the fifth-seed in the 100 backstroke and is also seeded inside the top-20 in the 200 backstroke
—The Pack is a top-16 seed in four of the five relays including the 200 medley relay where it is a top-8 seed
