Pack aiming for fourth consecutive win as Seminoles visit PNC Arena

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men's basketball team looks for its fourth-straight ACC win Sunday evening as No. 25 Florida State visits PNC Arena for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
A win for NC State would give the Pack its first four-game win streak in ACC regular season games since 2006 when Herb Sendek's team beat Clemson, Virginia, Maryland and Miami in consecutive games from Jan. 29 through Feb. 8.
Sunday's game will be the eighth this season for NC State against a ranked opponent. The Pack is 4-3 this season against opponents ranked in the Associated Press poll.
Fans are encouraged to bring canned good to donate for the Harris Teeter Big Four Million Meals Challenge. Collections will take place outside the doors of PNC Arena on Sunday. The first 250 people that donate will receive a $5 gift card to Harris Teeter.
The game will be televised on ESPNU with Anish Shroff and Cory Alexander calling the action. NC State fans can also listen to the game on the Wolfpack Sports Network with Gary Hahn and Tony Haynes on the call.
Pack Tracks
- NC State captured its third consecutive win Tuesday evening with an 82-66 win over Boston College. After starting the game 0-8 shooting, NC State made its next 13 field goals and closed the half hitting 17 of 19 field goal attempts in the final 12:46 of the first period.
- Allerik Freeman led the Pack in scoring with 20 points. Freeman has led NC State in scoring in each game during the current three-game win streak. In the last three games, the Charlotte native is averaging 20.3 points on 50 percent shooting, 5.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
- Freshman Braxton Beverly has settled into his freshman campaign as the season has gone on. He enters Sunday's game having hit 2 or more three-pointers in nine of the last 10 games. In the last six games, Braxton is 17-of-28 (60.7%) from three-point range. The Hazard, Ky., native connected on 5-of-6 from long range in the win over Boston College on Tuesday. During the Pack's current three-game win streak, Beverly has zero turnovers in 97 minutes of action. He leads the ACC with a 3.06 assist-to-turnover ratio.
- NC State has shot 50 percent or better in four consecutive games. It is the first time the Pack has shot 50 percent or better in four consecutive ACC regular season games in the same season since the 1985-86 season when NC State shot 50 percent or better in five consecutive ACC games from 2/5/1986 to 2/23/1986.
Yurtseven Finding Comfort Level in Sophomore Season
NC State sophomore center Omer Yurtseven came to college last season as a consensus five-star player, but the Istanbul, Turkey native had an up-and-down season as a freshman. Now, as a sophomore a confident Yurtseven is becoming the No. 1 priority on opposing team's scouting reports.
- On the season, ranks second on the team in scoring (13.6) and leads in rebounding (6.8), field goal percentage (58.8%) and blocks (50). In 15 ACC games, leading the team in scoring (15.0), rebounding (6.7), blocks (30) and field goal percentage (54.8%).
- In seven ACC home games, Yurtseven is averaging 17.6 points on 58.7% shooting (54-of-92), including 46.7% (7-of-15) from three-point range. Also averaging 6.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks.
- Yurtseven had a career-high 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 5-of-6 from three-point range in win over #19 Clemson on 1/11.
- With 50 blocks this season, Yurtseven now ranks in a tie for 9th with Damon Thornton (1999-00) in the NC State record book for most blocks in a single-season.

Omer Yurtseven's fellow sophomore teammate Markell Johnson has also seen his impact on this year's Pack team increase as well.
- Johnson leads the Pack in assists (164 / 7.81 per game) and steals (38 / 1.81 per game) this season. He's currently on pace to finish with the highest assist per game average at NC State since Chris Corchiani averaged 9.6 assists per game in the 1990-91 season. His steals per game average would be the best mark at NC State since Clifford Crawford average 2.13 (66 in 31 games) in the 2002-03 season.
- Johnson leads the ACC in assists and ranks third in steals. His 2.34 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks 4th in the ACC.
- Has had three or more steals in seven of 21 games and seven or more assists in 14 of 21 games.
- Johnson had a career-high 20 points in the win at No. 10 UNC-Chapel Hill on 1/27. He added 11 assists for his second career double-double. He scored or assisted on 15 straight NC State points from the 2:58 mark of regulation through the 2:25 mark of overtime. He clinched the win with two free throws with :04 seconds remaining in overtime.

- The Pack has forced 15 of 28 opponents this season into 15+-turnovers. Four times, the Pack has forced opponents into 20 or more turnovers in a single game. The last NC State team to force opponents into 20 or more turnovers four times in a season was the 2009-10 team. The last seven NC State teams (2010-11 team through 2016-17 team) only twice forced opponents into 20 turnovers. - Freshman guard Braxton Beverly wasn't cleared to play for NC State this season until Tuesday, Nov. 14 after initially being declared ineligible by the NCAA.
- Beverly currently leads the ACC with a 3.06 assist-to-turnover ratio. The freshman guard has had only two games this season with more turnovers than assists and has had one turnover or fewer in 17 of the 26 games he's played in this season. During NC State's current three-game win streak, Beverly has zero turnovers in 97 minutes of play.
- Beverly's 3.06 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks 12th in the nation. He is the only freshman in the country to rank in the top-25 in NCAA Dl.
- The Hazard, Ky., native ranks ninth in the ACC in three-point FG % (39.6), he is hitting 43.0 percent from three-point range in ACC-only games to rank fifth in the conference. In the win over No. 10 UNC-Chapel Hill, Beverly made two free throws with :13 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Pack a 93-88 lead on its way to a 95-91 victory.
