Last season, the Wolfpack finished fourth at the championships, its second-highest finish since joining the league in 2007. NC State fired a team score of 4660 with a 2356 in air rifle and a 2304 in smallbore.
Â
Graduate student Lauren Phillips won the individual smallbore title at the 2017 GARC Championships thanks to a score of 586 in the preliminaries and 456.7 points in the finals session to edge WVU Olympian Ginny Thrasher.
Â
On Wednesday, Phillips was selected to compete at the NCAA Championships as an individual in the smallbore competition. NC State has now had a student-athlete qualify for the championships in three consecutive seasons.
Â
The Wolfpack will be looking to have its best performance of the season at the championships, as the Pack has tallied strong days in air rifle and strong days in smallbore but hopes to put together stellar performances in both guns.
