RALEIGH - The NC State women's soccer team earned a spot in the final national rankings for the third consecutive year, finishing 21st on TopDrawerSoccer and 22nd on United Soccer Coaches.
The Wolfpack additionally finished 18th in the NCAA's final RPI (rating percentage index), setting its best mark in program history since the NCAA began archiving the stat in 2000.
This is the first time since 1990-92 that the program has landed in the final national rankings in three straight seasons, and its RPI is a five-spot improvement from last year's placement of 23 (a previous program best).
The squad played the sixth-toughest overall schedule in the nation, including the toughest nonconference schedule in the NCAA.
NC State (11-7-4) concluded its season with its second Sweet 16 appearance in three years. Its record featured five wins/ties against top 20 opponents, as 2018 was the third consecutive season with 10+ wins.
The Pack earned its third straight NCAA Championship berth for the first time since the 1994-96 seasons, and hosted the NCAA First Round for the second year in a row.
