GREENSBORO, N.C. – David Loera and Manny Perez of the NC State men's soccer team have earned All-ACC honors for the second straight season, the conference office announced Wednesday morning. The Wolfpack student-athletes claimed the 123rd and 124th All-ACC honors in program history.
After earning All-Freshman Team honors in 2017, Loera was voted by the league's coaches to be among the top 11 players in the conference this season, earning a place on the First Team All-ACC squad. He is in the midst of a terrific sophomore season with the Wolfpack that has included three goals (all match-winners) and a team-high six assists. He was named the TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week and ACC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 16 after scoring match-winning goals at Longwood and against No. 1 UNC-Chapel Hill.
Loera has started all 18 matches this season and has played nearly every minute on the field, competing in 1,669 of a possible 1,693 minutes (98.5 percent).

After earning ACC Freshman of the Year and First Team All-ACC honors in 2017, Perez on Wednesday was named to the Third Team All-ACC squad for the 2018 season. The sophomore has appeared in 14 matches this season, scoring one goal and contributing five assists. He had a very strong start to the season, recording one assist in each of the Wolfpack's first four matches (all victories). Perez is currently competing with the United States U20 Men's National Team in Bradenton, Fla., in an attempt to qualify for the 2019 U20 World Cup.

The Wolfpack is having another strong season under second-year head coach George Kiefer. NC State (9-6-3) won nine matches for the first time since 2011, hosted a match in the first round of the ACC Championship for the second straight season, and has picked up three wins and two draws against ranked teams. The team will find out its postseason opponent and location on Monday, Nov. 12 when the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship Selection Show begins at 1 pm via a live stream on NCAA.com.
