Volleyball Comes Up Short Against Florida State on Senior Day

RALEIGH, N.C. – Facing one of the toughest teams in the ACC, the NC State volleyball team saw its five-match win streak come to a close against the Florida State Seminoles, 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 28-30, 19-25), on Senior Day Friday afternoon inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum.

The Wolfpack opened the contest strong with a 25-19 win to take a 1-0 lead in the match, but the Seminoles, which are second place in the conference and receiving votes for the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll, answered by winning the next three sets.

NC State finishes the season with a 15-13 overall record and a 9-9 mark in ACC play, while Florida State moves to 19-9 and 15-3 in conference action. The Wolfpack's six seniors Kassie Kasper, Sarah Konchan, Makenzie Kuchmaner, Keira Moore, Kylie Pickrell and Teni Sopitan were honored following the match.

Match Rewind
- A service error from Florida State started the match and NC State never trailed en route to earning a 25-19 first-set victory, although the score was tied three times.

- Freshman Jade Parchment led all players in the contest with 19 kills and she also added seven digs. Sopitan put down 17 kills, while Evans added 10.
- At setter, Pickrell dished out a match-high 54 assists to go along with six digs and four kills.
- Defensively, senior libero Kuchmaner became just the third player in program history to surpass 500 digs in a single season, as she ended the match with 22.
