Parchment Named ACC Freshman of the Week

Wolfpack freshman recognized after NC State’s 3-0 sweep against UNC-Chapel Hill
GREENSBORO, N.C. – After helping NC State volleyball earn the program's first sweep against UNC-Chapel Hill since 1991, Wolfpack outside hitter Jade Parchment has been named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Freshman of the Week.
Parchment becomes the first Wolfpack player to garner a weekly honor from the conference this season and secures the first of her career.
The Kensington, Md., native put down 10 kills against the Tar Heels to tally the second most on the Wolfpack and third highest in the match. Parchment also notched 11 digs to record her sixth double-double performance of the season.
She started the match on a strong note with consecutive kills from the outside to give NC State a 2-0 lead in the first set. Parchment charted five kills in the opening frame, three in the second and two in the third set.
For the season, Parchment has been one of the Wolfpack's leaders in kills, as she has recorded the third most on the squad with 242. Additionally, she has been great defensively with 198 digs on the year.
She shares the award with Georgia Tech's Mikaila Dowd, while Pitt's Layne Van Buskirk was the ACC Player of the Week.
NC State will host its final two matches of the season this week, as the Syracuse Orange visit Reynolds Coliseum on Wednesday and Florida State will play against the Wolfpack on Friday. Both matches are slated to begin at 2 p.m.
