GREENSBORO, N.C. – Juniors Tziarra King and Ricci Walkling of the NC State women's soccer team were named to the 2018 All-ACC Second Team, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
For King, a Sicklerville, N.J., native, this is her fourth honor from the conference in three years, as she was named to the ACC All-Freshman and All-ACC Third Teams in 2016, and garnered First Team honors last year.
This is Walkling's second postseason accolade from the conference, as the Obergriesbach, Germany, native earned a spot on the Third Team in 2017.
King leads the squad with nine goals and 24 points, which was good enough to rank third in those categories among the ACC in regular season play. She has totaled 34 goals and 81 points so far in her career, which rank her sixth and eighth, in respective order, among the program.
Walkling has tallied a team-best seven assists this year, which is the fourth-most in the ACC, and ranks third among the squad with 11 points.
Both have been an integral part of the team's 10-6-3 record and No. 20 RPI as they have played a combined 3,266 minutes this season. King started all 19 matches while Walkling earned a starting nod in 18 of them.
NC State now awaits for an NCAA Tournament bid, and is looking to make its third consecutive appearance for the first time since the 1994-96 seasons. The selection show is slated for Monday, Nov. 5 at 4:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.
