
Women’s Golf In Seventh At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team is in seventh place out of 18 teams after the first two rounds of the Landfall Tradition, hosted by UNCW at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
The Wolfpack shot a combined 308 (+20) in the first round, and improved 16 shots in round two to post a 292 (+4) for a total of 600 (+24). The first round on Friday was suspended due to inclement weather, so was completed this morning. The second round followed immediately after.
After the opening round the Pack sat in 11th place, but thanks to a solid day two score the team jumped four spots up the leaderboard. Arkansas (585, +9) leads the field while South Carolina (591, +15) and Virginia (593, +17) round out the top three of the standings.
Naomi Ko posted rounds of 77 (+5) and 71 (-1) to sit in a tie for 16th with a combined 148 (+4), while Mim Sangkapong sits three shots behind Ko in T33rd after shooting rounds of 79 and 72. Ko's second round featured two birdies and a bogey, while Sangkapong's 72 consisted of two birdies and bogeys apiece.
Laura Kowohl and Lea Klimentova currently share 44th place with a 153 (+9), as Kowohl posted scores of 78 and 75 and Klimentova shot 74 and 79.
India Clyburn and Monika Hartl, who is competing as an individual, are two strokes behind Kowohl and Klimentova in a tie for 54th with 155. Clyburn shot an 81 in the first round but shaved seven strokes off her second round for a 74, while Hartl shot rounds of 77 and 78.
NC State will conclude competition at the Landfall Tradition Sunday. The final round will be an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start and the Pack will be paired with Penn State and Purdue on holes six through nine.
