U.S. Soccer Release
CHICAGO – Manny Perez of the NC State men's soccer team has been called up once again by the United States Soccer Federation to join the U-20 Men's National Team. Perez will be part of the 20-player roster attempting to defend the team's confederation title at the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, to be held Nov. 1-21 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
"I am really proud of Manny being called up for U-20 World Cup qualifying," NC State head coach George Kiefer said. "There are considerations to be taken as a college team prepares for postseason play, but at NC State we will never be a program that denies players positive opportunities for personal development on the global stage. We celebrate opportunities like this, both as coaches and as players in the locker room. Manny's teammates support him as well because they understand how great these opportunities are."
The 2018 tournament marks CONCACAF's largest U-20 World Cup qualifying tournament ever, with 34 member associations participating. The top four teams will qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, set to be played May 23 to June 15 in Poland.

"We're also thankful that the administration at NC State is supportive of embracing the opportunities that come along with having top international players on the roster," Kiefer said.
U.S. Youth Technical Director, U-20 MNT head coach, and former Wolfpack star Tab Ramos has selected a 20-player roster to represent the United States at the competition. The U.S. is the tournament's top seed, was drawn into Group A, and opens competition against Puerto Rico (Nov. 1), followed by the U.S. Virgin Islands (Nov. 3), Trinidad and Tobago (Nov. 5), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Nov. 7), before finishing up against Suriname (Nov. 9).
Games will be streamed live on CONCACAF GO, accessible at CONCACAFGO.com or via the CONCACAF GO app (iTunes and Google Play). A free trial of CONCACAF GO is available through Dec. 1.
